If the aims of your walk included reflection on questions of meaning and purpose and personal transformation, then reflecting on the experience and making changes in your life is the next step.
If you kept a journal during the walk you could reflect on that.
You may also find it helpful to use the process below, which is drawn from the teaching of
St Ignatius Loyola, the founder of the Jesuits.
You may wish to use some of the prayers and scripture passages on our website, see the link below.
Once an experience such as a pilgrimage is over it's easy to think: "Well done me! I've achieved my goal, now it's back to normal!" The hard gained insights can be lost as the blisters heal and the daily chores and worries resume.
This can be avoided by reflecting on the significance of the experience and recording any insights it has brought and any plans to change. The Jesuits have developed a practice called the Examen. Try the reflection in the link below from the Pray as You Go website and ask yourself:
What has been precious about this pilgrimage?
What has been important about the experience?
What have you learned about yourself?
